Uploading a bid set

The app is not live yet. This article describes how uploading is designed to work. planned

What to do

Upload the files as you downloaded them. You do not need to rename, sort or unzip them first.

You can add PDFs, or zip files that hold PDFs. Specification books, drawing sets and addenda all go into the same project.

Files go from your browser straight to storage. Large files are sent in parts, so a dropped connection picks up where it stopped. Every file is sent this way, whatever its size.

After the upload, the app reads each file in the background. You can leave the page.

When reading is done, you see an index. Specification sections are grouped by division number. Drawing sheets are grouped by the first letter of the sheet number. An Index Report lists what could not be read.

A file that was already read is recognised by its contents, so it is not read again.

Example project (fictional): one project manual and two issues of the drawings go in together. The index then shows Section 09 91 23 and Sheet A-501 in one place.
