Searching
The app is not live yet. This article describes how search is designed to work. planned
How a search works
One search runs across the files in one project. You do not open files one at a time.
Matching is on the letters you type. Case is ignored. A part of a word matches, so "submittal" also finds "submittals" and "resubmittal". The app does not look for synonyms.
Results are grouped by specification section or by drawing sheet. Each hit is addressed the way estimators write it: "Section 09 91 23, page 2" for a specification, and "Sheet A-501" for a drawing. The page in a section is counted from where the section starts. The page number in the PDF file is shown too, as a second reference.
The words you searched for are highlighted in each hit.
A coverage line is always shown. It gives the pages searched, and the pages not searched. A search with no results says so plainly and names what was not searched.
The app shows you the words on the page. It does not explain them, and it does not summarise a requirement. You read the page and make the call.
Example project (fictional): a search for "sealant" returns hits grouped by section and sheet, with the coverage line above them.
